Awareness Awakening
It will benefit you to read the lecture and watch the video
Awareness is the ability to see past what you already know and what you think you know. It is being present in your life, with others, and on your tasks. It’s more than being focused it’s a way of being where focused is a doing.
What it looks like to be present and aware?
• You have the experience of being awake.
• When you become aware you see a plethora of incites.
With awareness, we need to generate willingness. Ask yourself, “Am I willing to do this work and ask myself questions I am not used to asking?”
To know what it is like to be aware you need to notice how your body and mind react in subtle ways. When you know how the body reacts or mind, in ways that cause pain or anger you can step back and take charge. Allowing yourself the time to relax, regroup, think and choose.
One useful tool that allows awareness to awaken is by asking questions, going deeper into the conversation, and causing clarity by defining the situation. As we are human being our ways of being is in a constant shift. One moment we are experiencing joy, the next we are frustrated. The illusion is to think we have no control over this shift. Awareness allows you to notice the shifts as they come, and choose to allow the shift to happen or choose to change it.
Before we can do anything we need to know what we are looking for.
